The cross-disciplinary events sponsored by the Division of Graduate Studies will appeal to students and faculty from the College of Science and Mathematics, the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, and the College of Health and Human Services.

More than 250 participants are expected to showcase their research projects in this year’s symposium.

UC Davis Graduate Presentations

Presenters:
Olga Vafaeva, Raisa Rahim, Christina Meyer, and Zoila Estrada-Tobar.
Olga Vafaeva: Olga is a sixth year Neuroscience Ph.D candidate in the lab of Dr. Elva Diaz at the University of California, Davis, co-mentored by Dr. Hwai-Jong Cheng at the Institute of Molecular Biology at Academia Sinica, Taiwan.
Raisa A. Rahim: Raisa is a recent PhD recipient from University of California, Davis in Cognitive Neuroscience. Her previous research experience includes studying how visual attention affects memory in neurotypical and neurodivergent populations.
Christina Meyer: Christina is a fourth year Biochemistry and Molecular Biology PhD candidate in the lab of Dr. Elva Diaz at the University of California, Davis. Christina began performing research at the Cal State University of Fullerton as a research intern.
Zoila (Zoe) Estrada-Tobar: Zoe studies the Beta-adrenergic/cAMP/PKA signaling cascade to delineate the relationship between the position and activity of effector and scaffolding proteins by biochemical assays (she is originally from the Central Valley and was supported by an LSAMP BD Fellowship at Cal State Los Angeles MS program before going to UC Davis for her Ph.D.).
