The 45th Central Valley Symposium, offered through the division of research and graduate studies, is approaching, and it’s time to look at how you can present your research.
The symposium’s primary objective is to disseminate recent research findings to a diverse audience, including community investigators, college students, and faculty, promoting research initiatives within the Central Valley.
Submissions from all research disciplines are welcome to encourage idea exchange among investigators and the broader public.
Participation is open to individuals from all backgrounds, such as faculty, residents, and graduate and undergraduate students, who are encouraged to submit abstracts for consideration.

Guidelines for submission
According to organizers, here are the essential guidelines and information participants need to know.
Presentation Format Preferences
- Authors can choose between two presentation formats: oral or poster.
- You’ll have 12 minutes for oral presentations to present your research and 3 minutes for discussion.
- Details on the poster presentation format will be provided to authors selected for poster presentations.
Time and Location
- Once your submission is accepted, you will receive a notification specifying your presentation’s exact time and location. Some oral sessions may even be interdisciplinary.
Sponsorship Requirement
- If you’re entering the student competition, you must be sponsored by a faculty member. Your submission will be sent to your faculty mentor for approval.
- A complete application includes your abstract submission and your faculty mentor’s electronic approval. Only complete applications will be considered.
Acceptance Policy
- To participate in sessions, you must accept your invitation to present. Presenters who do not confirm will not be scheduled.
Withdrawal Policy
- If you need to withdraw your abstract, please submit a withdrawal request by March 29, 2024.
Publication of Abstracts
- All abstracts selected for presentation will be published in the Central California Research Symposium Proceedings.
Student Awards and Social Hour
- The Symposium will conclude with student awards and a social hour, providing an opportunity to celebrate and network.
