Black Excellence in Science and Technology Club (BEST), in conjunction with the Center for Access to Science for All (CASA) and Fresno State Black Student Success Initiative, have teamed up to host a Science Saturday event at Fresno State on Feb. 24th from 9.45 am to 6 pm.
Students from Madera Unified School District, Wilson Middle School (Chowchilla Unified School District), Hallmark Academy, and Sanger Academy from Sanger Unified School District, West Fresno Middle School, and Fresno Unified School District are expected to attend the conference.
These young minds have had the unique opportunity to explore the practical and fascinating aspects of STEM fields through hands-on experiences at Fresno State’s facilities, including a Kitchen lab, nut and fruit processing facility, and a winery.
They learned about brain diseases, virtual reality in biology, and fun with mathematics using origami.
The event also raises funds for student success initiatives at Fresno State.
The funds will be used to pay for conference travel, test prep material, and school supplies, among other expenses.
